What does our
church believe?
Our Catholic Church shares
the exact same faith
common to all other Catholic Churches.
This faith is summarized in the words we recite together each Sunday in
the Profession of Faith. There are no theological or practical
differences between this National Catholic parish and a Roman Catholic
parish. The major difference is that we practice far more lenient
disciplines (that is, man made rules). In fact, many visitors and
couples choosing to celebrate weddings at St. Patrick's have then chosen
to become members of the parish because they have differences of opinion
with what they have experienced in the Roman Catholic Church and object
to many of their practices, but, desire to maintain their Catholicism
within an accepting Catholic parish.
We accept
the divorced and remarried to all of the Sacraments, proclaim God's
forgiveness at Mass through the General Absolution of sin and
welcome to Communion all who are baptized with a belief in the real
presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Eucharistic hospitality is
often welcomed as a comfort at weddings with diverse guests and in
relationships where one party may be Catholic and the other of
another believing, but non-catholic faith, such as the Episcopal or
Lutheran faiths.

In addition,
we share these beliefs:
As a Catholic
Church, we also believe in the
Seven Sacraments
of Baptism, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Matrimony, Holy
Orders, and Anointing of the Sick as signs of our Lord Jesus' continuing
Presence and action in His Church and channels of Actual and Sanctifying
Grace to all who accept them.
It is
distinctly Catholic to have belief, faith and confidence in the actual,
real, and true
Presence of the Lord Jesus Christ;
body, blood, soul, and Divinity; in each and every portion of the
Eucharistic Elements of bread and wine; from the very moment of their
consecration by the Priest in the Liturgy.
St. Patrick
Catholic Church is often described as "the
Catholic Church as it should be."
We try to reflect closely Jesus Christ, who welcomed all who approached
with limitless love, forgiveness of past faults and failings and the
affirmation of His will that they live a good and holy life together in
the Sacrament of Marriage.
At Saint
Patrick Catholic Church, your Catholic heart can be at home, and your
conscience can be at peace.
